Women "Assisting Ex-Inmates To A Better Life" Our Services Who We Are and What We Do Inmates, who have made decisions for Christ in jail, face many challenges once released. Their faith is tested as they labor to overcome their addictions, cut ties to the temptations of their former lifestyles, and strive to build new lives and strengthen their relationships with Christ. For many, this means learning how to survive independently for the first time ever. We're here to help. We are located in the center of the state of California and an hour away from where the world's largest women's prisons are located, Central California Women's Facility and Valley State Prison for Women in Chowchilla, Ca. There are over 8000 women incarcerated in these two prisons and over 11,000 women in prisons throughout California. Many more women are in county jails, with 422 women in the Fresno County Detention Facility. Inmates who have given their lives to Christ in jail or prison face many challenges once released. Their faith is tested as they labor to overcome their addictions, cut ties to the temptations of their former lifestyles, and strive to build new lives and strengthen their relationships with Christ. For many, this means learning how to survive independently and develop self-esteem and motivation for the first time ever. Many ex-inmates don't have the basic skills and resources needed to get jobs, manage their finances responsibly, secure places to live and transportation for their families, and even to provide for the basic needs of themselves and their children. Samaritan Women assists ex-inmates in becoming self-reliant, Godly women and productive contributors to their families, churches and communities. Services
